LabDriveX provides a trusted vehicle history and workshop management platform for Australian mechanics and vehicle owners. Our platform allows mechanics to manage service records, invoicing, and customer communications, and allows vehicle owners to access their car's complete verified history.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information You Provide

We collect information you provide directly to us, including:

  • Name, email address, and password when you create an account

  • Phone number and business details (for mechanics)

  • ABN and workshop name (for mechanic accounts)

  • Payment information processed securely via Stripe (we do not store your card details)

  • Vehicle information including make, model, year, VIN, and registration number

  • Service records, job notes, invoices, and quotes you create or receive

  • Incident reports including photos and third-party details you upload

  • Insurance and registration details you choose to store

  • Communications you send us via contact forms or email

3.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you use our Services, we automatically collect:

  • Device information including device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers

  • App usage data and feature interactions

5. How We Share Your Information

5.1 With Mechanics and Vehicle Owners

LabDriveX is designed to share vehicle history information between mechanics and vehicle owners. Specifically:

  • When a mechanic logs a service record against your vehicle, that information is accessible to you as the vehicle owner through the owner app

  • When you transfer a vehicle to a new owner, the service history transfers with it

  • Mechanics can see vehicle history records logged by other mechanics using LabDriveX

5.2 With Service Providers

We share information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating our Services, including:

  • Stripe (payment processing) — stripe.com/privacy

  • Cloud hosting and database providers

  • Analytics providers to help us understand how our Services are used

  • Email and push notification services

All third-party providers are contractually required to handle your data securely and only for the purposes we specify.

5.3 We Never Sell Your Data

We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

5.4 Legal Requirements

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our Services. Vehicle history records are retained permanently as this is a core feature of our Service — verified history that follows a vehicle over its lifetime.

If you close your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal account information within 90 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance purposes (such as tax records which must be kept for 7 years under Australian law).

8. Your Rights Under the Australian Privacy Act

Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you

  • Request correction of inaccurate or outdated personal information

  • Request that we delete your personal information (subject to legal retention requirements)

  • Opt out of direct marketing communications at any time

  • Opt out of push notifications through your device settings

  • Make a complaint about how we handle your personal information

9. Push Notifications

LabDriveX sends push notifications to vehicle owners for service reminders and upcoming maintenance recommended by their mechanic. These notifications are a core feature of the Service.

You can opt out of push notifications at any time through your device's notification settings (iOS: Settings > LabDriveX > Notifications). Note that disabling notifications means you will not receive service reminders.

10. Children's Privacy

LabDriveX is not intended for use by persons under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete that information.

11. Links to Third-Party Sites

Our Services may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties and encourage you to read their privacy policies.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on our website and, where appropriate, sending you a notification through the app or via email.
